How Privotag scanning works
Create your profile, download a QR, stick it on your gear — responders scan with any phone camera.
Where is my QR code?
After you sign in, go to Profile → Online QR. You will see a live preview plus buttons to download SVG or PNG. Print at any copy shop or on a home label printer.
What happens when someone scans it?
The QR encodes a link like /t/your-token. The scanner opens your public profile (ICE, pet, or custom fields). You receive an email alert; Pro adds approximate location.
Online vs offline QR
Online QR always shows your latest profile. Offline QR embeds a snapshot inside the code (MECARD) so it works with zero signal — your private offline tag. Regenerate when meds or allergies change.
PIN and private fields (Pro)
Public fields are visible to anyone who scans. Pro users can store encrypted private notes and require a PIN before sensitive data is shown. Set your PIN under Profile → Security.
Hide my profile temporarily
Profile → Security → Hide public profile. While hidden, scans show a neutral message. Turn visibility back on anytime.
ICE — In Case of Emergency
Fill at least one emergency contact, blood type, and known allergies. Privotag keeps it readable without unlocking your device. Read our ICE guide.
QR damaged? Use Tag ID + PIN
Go to privotag.com/access and enter the Tag ID printed near your QR. Pro profiles can require a PIN before private fields appear.
Pet & family profiles
Choose a profile type under Profile → Public (Adult, Child, Pet, Other). Family plan supports up to 3 separate QR profiles — each with its own token and scan history.
Physical tags (TR & Balkans)
Download PNG/SVG or a Pro print kit PDF and print at any local shop. Ship-to-you ordering is coming after we finish regional print partnerships.
